Of Course, to Many of us, the Victory is Never Good Enough…

Let’s just give in and celebrate the victory. Osama Bin Laden is dead. Stop the bickering about credit and shit.

However, let’s also set the record straight. This goes out t everyone I’ve talked to and everyone I know who are trying to find all of the dark corners in the biggest American military victory of the last decade.

Everyone knows that Seal Team 6 raided a compound in Abbottbad, Pakistan, and put a bullet in Osama Bin Laden. Right? Right.

Well, now there is undercutting going around amongst various social networks, my cell phone, and various other media outlets.

Apparently, according to many, President Barack Obama does not deserve any such credit for alleviating the rest of the living world from the oppressive fist and deranged mind of “Public Enemy Number One”.

o.0 – Really?

Other people are ranting about how it’s ironic that Osama was killed by a soldier who “the President wasn’t going to pay.”

Below is an actual “repost message” that has presented itself on my Facebook updates multiple times:

Let’s be clear on this: OBAMA did NOT kill Bin Laden. An AMERICAN SOLDIER, who Obama just a few weeks ago was debating on whether to pay or not to pay, did. Obama just happened to be the one in office when our Soldiers finally found Osama and took him out. This is NOT an Obama victory, but an AMERICAN victory!! Repost if you agree.. A big THANK YOU to ALL our soldiers!

Let’s look at the things that are wrong with this statement. And no, I’m not even going into the freedom of speech thing. I know I do, at times, but I assure you, I am not even going to mention the First Amendment in this post upon completion of this paragraph. This is protected, it is an opinion, but, let’s face it, it’s not entirely accurate.

Number first, and this is probably a bit frivolous, but it’s a good way to ease into the meat of this post. I feel there is a little too much EMPHASIS on certain aspects of this post.

Interjection:  In response, I have decided that I will all-caps every word I feel needs EMPHASIS for the rest of this posting, Thanks.

Secondly, the President does NOT pay the soldiers.  <—— hahahaha! Go emphasis!

What everyone who actually believes this is harping on is the inability for the governmental parties involved to come up with a federal budget a few weeks ago. Obama presented the figures to Congress, and it takes Congressional approval to pay the soldiers. Congress, actually, pays the soldiers.

The conflict arose after the issue was out of the President’s hands. It’s not even that they WOULDN’T get paid. The pay would be delayed somewhat. That would also be the case for nearly two million “non-essential” civilian employees. I’m not in any way saying that the soldiers are “non-essential”, I’m just putting it in perspective. Soldier’s wouldn’t have been the only people with DELAYED pay.

Lastly, I would like to point out to everyone that, Obama DID, in fact, take out Bin Laden. Such an act could not be done without something called an “EXECUTIVE ACTION”, meaning that the Executive Branch of the United States Federal Government (i.e. the President of the United States, i.e. Barack Obama) has to give the okay, to “Green Light”, if you will, for Seal Team 6 to even touch the damn door, much less burst in and kill one of the most powerful, and influential, men in the world.

This IS a victory of Barack Obama.
This IS a victory for the American Military, the country, and in reality, the world.

There’s plenty of praise to go around, and such praise should be given where it is deserved. The President, Seal Team 6, everyone who scoped out and researched the situation, and those who spent the long hours obsessing over documents and footage.

Osama Bin Laden is dead thanks to everyone mentioned above.

But here is another area where some people are kind of falling away from the facts. I’m pointing my finger specifically too…

Oh damn. Wrong person. Sorry. Here you go.

Here we go. I got it right now. Sorry, I make the mistake all the time.

Interjection: To be honest, when Tina Fey first did her Sarah Palin impression on SNL, I actually thought Sarah Palin was on SNL. They really are that similar looking.

Anyway, according to the source I used to get the specifics on this particular event, Sarah Palin was in Lakewood, Colorado, addressing patrons at a fundraising event about the death of Osama Bin Laden. She says, “we thank our President”, very quickly followed by, “we thank PRESIDENT BUSH, for having made the right calls… (people screaming and cheering).”

Of course, it wouldn’t be a political rally if the noise didn’t reach 150 dB.

Anyway, during the applause, Palin is credited as saying, “… to set up this victory.”

Yes, she EMPHASIZED President Bush. Don’t believe me? Here’s the video:

Thanks to RWWBlog for posting.

Apparently, there are many, many people who believe that the former President deserves credit for this monumental event. I have seen these posts on Facebook, Yahoo! Answers, random websites and forums, and of course, Fox News. Apparently, the Republican party is using an old Democratic party tactic, of which the Republicans have historically readily scrutinized, and are trying to gather up as much of the praise as possible and give it to our last Commander-In-Chief.

I do, in fact, see an issue with this. Granted, one could argue that Bush’s ruthlessness into the Middle East affairs could have, inadvertently, possibly, maybe been a contributing factor to the events of last weekend, but it’s a stretch. A long, long stretch. At best.

President Bush was in office during 9/11, and yet, the Republican’s blamed President Clinton for “not taking threat of action from al-Qaeda seriously” and basically placing the vast majority of the blame for the event squarely on him. Clinton practically walked around with a metaphorical cross-hair on his back. However, with the recent “capping” of the man who orchestrated such events, the Republicans have decided that they should not credit the man in office (who, like Clinton, is a Democrat) and want to take the glory upon themselves.

Yeah, Bush did it. Bush is reason Osama bin Laden is dead. Who cares if he’s been out of office for three years? Who cares if he wasn’t able to catch him in the seven years he had? Who cares if he lost him at Tora Bora, and ultimately ended up shifting his eyes to other fronts all around the Middle East? This is still a BUSH victory! This is still a REPUBLICAN victory!

I hope you all caught on that I was being unbelievably SARCASTIC during that entire paragraph.

Alas, I feel I may have completely run the course of what I was trying to say in this post, which, in my usual style of information and banter, is really long.

So, as of last weekend, Osama Bin Laden joins the same club that features Adolf Hitler, Napoleon Bonaparte, Alexander the Great: The Society for Brilliant Minds Who Just So Happen To Have Malevolent Intentions.

Interjection: I actually sat here for a few minutes trying to come up with something more clever. Something I could maybe have a comedic acronym attached to. *sigh* No such luck…

I do have one more thing to say, though. Perhaps, this means everyone will can all of these Birther shenanigans.

The way I look at it, Obama’s birth is legit. He was born in Hawaii, to an American citizen (his mother was born and raised in Kansas), in 1961. His father was an exchange student from the Nyanza Province of Kenya. When the Birther’s finally acknowledged that they couldn’t use that against him, they tried to say that his citizenship was revoked when he and his mother moved to Jakarta to be with his step-father. That didn’t work either.

Enter Donald Trump, with his “unique” ability to open his mouth and drive people up the wall. He pushed the issue, and when the long-form of President Obama’s birth certificate was revealed, the man, who is hoping to get the Republican nod for the 2012 Presidential ballot, not only acknowledged that it was his efforts that made the revelation possible, but held it, coddled it, named it George, and has been living off that elation since the revelation took place.

This is what I want. President Obama has already proven he is an American citizen, whether the Birthers acknowledge his proof or not. I have a list of things I want proven:

1. Proof that Sarah Palin received a high school diploma or a GED.
2. If any strand of hair on Donald Trump’s head is real.
3. If Oakland Raiders owner Al Davis is actually alive.
4. Brett Favre is actually retired this time.
5. Oprah isn’t actually an alien rogue agent from Planet Remulak.

Why don’t the Birther’s try to get to the bottom of these things. They’re all just as frivolous.
