28. King County

While being held on suspicion of stealing a vehicle, Malika Calhoun — then 15-years-old — was savagely beaten by King County, Washington Deputies Paul Schene and Travis Brunner. Schene threw Malika into a concrete wall, threw her to the floor by her hair, and proceeded to punch her repeatedly in the head and face while Brunner held her to the floor. The entire incident was videotaped.

Schene only lost his job with the police department. Two trials ended in hung juries.

Christopher Sean Harris was left permanently disabled after being assaulted by King County, Washington Deputy Matthew Paul, just under six months after the beating given to Malika Calhoun. Paul shoved Harris into a wall after Harris was misidentified by statements given at a Seattle bar where a fight took place.

The precinct admitted no wrongdoing, but paid Harris’ family $10 million in restitution regardless, the largest settlement of its kind in King County.

Ah, the About Me section - social networking's excuse for you sounding like an elitist prick. Hmm... what to say? What to say?
