Niles Meservey was drunk and trying to drive his vehicle from Chuckwagon Inn. Concerned patrons called 9-1-1 and Everett police soon arrived. When Merservey refused to get out of his car despite police demands to do so, Everett police tased him through the window. Since his Corvette was on, Meservey’s foot slammed the accelerator due to the taser, sending it barreling into a nearby fence. The impact with the fence caused the Corvette to buckle and hit a bystander nearby. Everett police officer Troy Meade opened fire on the vehicle.
Meservey’s official cause of death were multiple gunshot wounds.
